HEY CURVY...GET IN HERE!

If you are plus size, full figured, curvy, get in here! This post is for you 😄😊.

I know that sometimes picking out clothes while shopping, putting together the pieces you have available that will give you that smart, lush look as you step out, can be quite a challenge. So here, I have put together a few tips that could help.

Colours: Once you are plus sized, you may need to be a bit careful with colours, try to pick colours that would enhance your complexion, some coloured clothes  depending on how it is tailored could bring too much attention to the some of the bulges you may want to keep a bit tucked in 😉😉😉. I would recommend darker shades like brown, maroon, black, deep purple etc. If you choose bright colours, then make it patterned, floral ones. Then again, Once in a while, it's OK to be bold and look different with bright coloured pieces such as pants, blazers or dresses.

Fabrics: Being a full figured lady myself, I have learnt overtime that not all kinds of fabric and fabric textures are for me. Elastic, Lycra , stretch fabrics are always a great option for the full figured girl. Also, be careful with excessively light materials especially net-like lace fabric. Since I do not know so much about other fabrics, i will just leave this here, for now.

Fitting: Ensure that your clothes don't look like they are hanging on you; they should be fitted to your body size and shape. If you have a bulging tummy, do not let your dresses be too fitted on you, the idea is to bring attention to the right places only, so, If you are wearing a flowing dress, be sure it is fitted from the top  and flows from the tummy or waist line down. Wear only what you are comfortable in.

Hair: For me, hair is everything! If you have a beautiful dress on you, jaw-dropping accessories but an unkempt hair, it just makes you look like a joke. Always ensure your hair is neatly done, even when your braids or locks get old, you can clean them, brush them up nicely. An edge control gel should always be handy. A few week ago, a lady put up some pictures she shot to celebrate her birthday; beautiful make-up, pretty clothes but her front hair was a disaster and i just could not hit the like button for that singular reason, just brushing her front hair could have made that picture perfect. Pay attention to your hair ladies, it says a lot about you. If you have a bad hair day, praise God for wigs!

Accessories: These are great and flatter your elegance, but do not over-accessorize. As much as you can, keep it simple and classy and you do not need to break the bank for that. Shoes, nails, bracelets, neck pieces, earrings should complement your dress.

Underwears: These are very essential for the curvy woman, thank God for waist trainers, body shapers and all sorts of girdles available in stores everywhere. A good bra is a must have, tights or girdle under your dresses will help makes the clothes look a lot better on you especially if they are fitted, body-hugging clothes.
For swim suits, go for the ones that cover you up a little bit more , like the one in the photograph below. A little cleavage is sexy enough.

Whatever you decide to wear Ladies, look smart in it. You are amazing and beautiful, do not let what you wear communicate otherwise.

You all rock!
