AND THE FOLLOWING ALSO PASSED...

Recently, I have been blessed to work with one of the most intelligent and savvy men I have ever known- My Boss at my training consulting job.  While listening to him a few days ago, I couldn't help but laugh so hard, learned a couple of lessons as well;  It was a story from his childhood which inspired him to become great and work hard to achieve all the successes he has achieved so far in life. I would like to share that story with you if you don't mind, you may learn a thing or two from it too although it may not sound as funny as it sounded hearing it from him directly.

So,  he attended a public primary school in his local community somewhere in the South East Nigeria and two days to the end of the term, they would sing songs, dance and clap in the classes. The songs meant that in a few days, everyone would get their results, some people would go home happy having passed the term's exams while some would go home sad as a result of their failure. On the school's closing day, everyone would gather at the school assembly ground and the Headmistress would read out the names and positions of the top five pupils in each of the classes and everyone including the teachers and all the parents gathered would applaud so  loud as each name was mentioned, parents would smile with pride as their wards walked up to collect their report cards amidst rousing ovation.

Pupils In A Class

After the whole episode with the top five, the Headmistress would then say "...and the following also passed..."  and then she would read out the names of the remaining pupils who also passed the term's examinations in quick successions, no applause, nothing! Somewhere in the middle of that, his Mum would turn to him and ask "Son, did you also hear your name?" and he would nod in the affirmative. Now,  this part cracked me up especially when he said his mum's question in Ibo language (a language from South East Nigeria).

Pupils On the Assembly Ground

Well, I hope I didn't bore you to death with this short story from my Boss' childhood LOL  but it is what inspired my boss to take a decision at that early age, to make his life an extraordinaire success, it was what made him study hard, fight to get into the best schools and graduate with First Class Honours, get to the peak of his career at an early age and still living his dreams today.

You may think it's already late for any inspirational, motivational talks and all that encouragement, but think again. I like to tell myself again and again "Fonny, don't give up on you" , that helps sometimes to keep me pushing and working hard to achieve my dreams.

Lupita Nyongรณ

Just like the talented, Oscar Award wining African Actress  Lupita Nyong'o said, "...your dreams are valid", so don't give up on them. Find new inspiration, go the extra mile. You just never know what faith, fate and destiny has in store for you.

Don't get lost in the crowd, be special, act special, let everyone around you feel and see that you are the real deal! Work hard, pray hard, have a lot of faith and believe in yourself.

YOU ARE THE REAL DEAL!
